Child of the Week: Jonah

jonahThere are currently 214 children waiting to me matched with a “Big” in Yavapai County. Here is the story of one of those kids.

Meet Jonah. He is a tall and lanky 12-year-old who lives with his mother and younger brother in Prescott. Jonah has had a hard time dealing with the divorce of his parents and doesn’t see much of his father, who lives in New York.

Jonah is a very smart kid and is an honor roll student. He gets along well with his peers and plays soccer with AYSO. He is very artistic, enjoys music, and wants to learn to play the guitar. Jonah likes to be outdoors and skateboard, ride his scooter, and shoot hoops. When he’s indoors he likes to play Legos and cook.

Jonah would greatly benefit from having a positive male role model in his life and wants a Big Brother, Couple, or Family Match that is friendly, has a good sense of humor, likes sports and can “keep up with him when he’s running.”

You don’t have to change your life to change the life of a child like Jonah. Just a few hours a couple times a month is enough to make a difference. Call 778-5135 or go to www.azbigs.org for more information on how you can help change a child’s life.

… Fundamentally. For the better. Forever.
