Child of the Week: Joseph

Joseph-Ingardia_webWhat can 8 hours a month do? Giving 8 hours to a child in need can drastically and positively change that child’s life Fundamentally. For the Better. Forever. Research supports this statement, but the true testimonial comes from the thousands of past children in our program who have grown into successful and happy people, giving back to their community because of their experience with Yavapai Big Brothers Big sisters.
Meet Joseph, a polite and cheerful 6 year old kindergartner who says, “I want my Big to know I am fun and I know how to tie my shoes.” Joseph could truly benefit from being matched to an intact Big Family. Tagging along and seeing a positive family interaction could help Joseph on his path to becoming a successful adult. Joseph is a leader who makes things happen, and enjoys the outdoors, going to school, and receiving ‘happy faces’ from his teacher.
An active child with a big imagination, Joseph also enjoys playing catch, shooting hoops, playing video games, swimming, going to Peter Piper Pizza, learning about music, and of course going to recess. Joseph also participates in T-ball and football, playing one sport of his choosing every season. When he grows up, he plans on becoming a Doctor and saving lives.
Every child in Yavapai Big Brothers Big Sisters holds a unique story. The need for volunteers is reflected through our 200+ waiting children. Giving 8 hours a month to a child facing adversity can drastically change that child’s life Fundamentally. For the Better. Forever.
