Yavapai Big Brothers Big Sisters mission is to enhance the lives of children through quality mentoring relationships.

WHO ARE WE?

Yavapai Big Brothers Big Sisters was founded in
Prescott Arizona in 1971. The organization started with a staff of four Vista Volunteers and in its first year, matched 40 Bigs & Littles. Since that time, we have brought magic into the lives of over 6,000 children.

Today, Yavapai Big Brothers Big Sisters serves all of Yavapai County and Sedona with offices in Prescott, Cottonwood and Sedona. Last year alone, Yavapai Big Brothers Big Sisters served over 900 children, ranking our agency in the top
1% nationally for the number of children matched per capita.

Many of the children we work with are often more likely to experience trouble in school, develop drug abuse problems, and/or become delinquent. Many have been abused and more than 70% live at or below the poverty level.

Big Brothers and Big Sisters bring magic to these children's lives and change their lives forever.

Little Brothers and Sisters are:

  • 46% less likely to initiate drug use

  • 27% less likely to start drinking

  • 53% less likely to skip school

  • 33% less likely to have violent confrontations

Nobody else is doing the work that Big Brothers Big Sisters does in exactly the way we do it. It's amazing what a little
magic can do!

Too good to be true?
Not in Arizona!

Make a $200 ($400 as a couple) donation to Big Brothers Big Sisters and it won’t cost you a dime.

It’s true!  If you itemize your deductions on your Arizona personal taxes you can give up to $200 as an individual ($400 as a couple) and receive a Tax Credit from the state of Arizona equal to your donation.  The State of Arizona offers tax credits that allow donors who itemize to make contributions to Yavapai Big Brothers Big Sisters under a statute designed to help organizations that help the disadvantaged.   This opportunity is separate from the tax credit programs for donations to schools so giving to Big Brothers Big Sisters does not affect your eligibility for those tax credits.
