Prescott Child of the Week: Parker

Parker-Ulrey-webAdversity is a burden a child should never bear. Society may take a lot from us, but it also gives us the opportunities to change it Fundamentally. For the Better. Forever.

Meet Parker, a family oriented 13 year old boy with an expertise in building and repairing electronics. Parker needs an active Big Brother who can help him grow socially and encourage him to pursue his undeniable talents. Ultimately, Parker hopes his knowledge of mechanics and electronics can lead to a successful career and prosperous life.

Despite family adversity, Parker maintains an upbeat attitude and would like his Big Brother to know he is understanding, easy to talk to, and enjoys exploring new activities. Parker’s favorite subject to study in school is Language Arts. He also loves soaking up the outdoors, riding dirt bikes, and talking to his friends.

Winston Churchill once stated “You make a living by what you get; you make a life by what you give.” 8 hours a month to a child in need can help that child climb over the greatest walls in life. Research shows that boys ages 14-17 who are matched to a Big Brother are %53 less likely to be arrested than all other boys in the same age group.
