Yavapai Big Brothers Big Sisters is pleased to announce that Karen Boehm has joined the agency as Program Director.
Boehm was a Big Sister for five years and is very familiar with the agency mission of inspiring the potential in Yavapai County’s children.
Boehm’s professional experience includes serving as program manager of Marc Center’s Residential Program for eight years. She was with that agency for 16 years. She oversaw 23 group homes and over 150 staff members. She was with Prescott Unified School District for 11 years. Boehm was an employee with the State of Arizona for seven years as a support coordinator with the Division of Developmental Disabilities and a certification specialist with the Child Care Administration.
Boehm holds a bachelor’s degree in social work from Arizona State University. She served as a field instructor for the ASU School of Social Work for three years. She was also a board member for High Country Early Intervention for six years.
Boehm was born in Prescott, but her family relocated to Mesa when she was 8. She and her husband of 36 years have lived in Prescott for 23 years and raised two sons here.
