YAVAPAI COUNTY – Continuing a tradition started in 1984, Yavapai County community members came out in force in April to Bowl For Kids’ Sake (BFKS) to support the youth mentoring mission of Yavapai Big Brothers Big Sisters (YBBBS).
Over 500 bowlers participated, raising more than $95,000, smashing the agency’s $90,000 goal.
“Our community’s solidarity in supporting our mission and the well-being of our Bigs and Littles is deeply appreciated,” shared Kristen Kerns, YBBBS executive director.
The top 3 individual fundraisers were David Bandy, $3,051; Scott Ramelot, $2,900; and Patrick Lavelle, $2,700.
The top 3 business fundraisers were Milgard Windows and Doors, $21,153.85; National Bank of Arizona (six teams from four branches), $3,334.09; and State Farm Jerome Prazak agency, $3,153.40.
The raffle winner of the Samsung 85” crystal UHD 4K CU8000 TV donated by Amazon was Stan Goligoski.
“Our local community once again showed how much they are invested, and how much they care, about our mission through their Bowl for Kids’ Sake efforts. Our agency thanks everyone who participated in Bowl for Kids’ Sake this year, and we look forward to making it even bigger and better next year,” said Brian Bergner Jr., YBBBS development specialist. “I’d also like to give a special shout-out to The Miter Foundation, our BFKS T-shirt sponsor.”

Bowl For Kids’ Sake is a national fundraiser for Big Brothers Big Sisters, with local organizations raising funds to support their mission of providing adult mentors to young people.
This year’s theme of Taking Flight for a Better Tomorrow showcased the agency’s commitment to continue expanding the mentoring program to young people up to age 24 through the Big Futures workforce development plan.
Partnering with YBBBS through Bowl for Kids’ Sake makes a positive, long-lasting impact on youth in your community. The mentoring programs broaden young people’s perspectives and help them learn how to make good choices.
