PRESCOTT – Target and Big Brothers Big Sisters formally partnered to launch a back-to-school shopping experience for young people in 20 locations across the country. Yavapai Big Brothers (YBBBS) and Prescott’s Target were chosen to participate on Aug. 7.
“Target has a rich history of community listening, learning, and engagement to help communities thrive. This includes supporting children by providing them resources needed for a strong school year ahead. We thank the Prescott Target team for making this a smooth and fun experience for our kids,” said Kristen Kerns, YBBBS Executive Director.
Sixty Littles in the program received a $100 gift card and were invited to shop for items that help them prepare for a successful new school year (school supplies such as backpacks, pencils, notebooks; comfortable clothes; healthy snacks, etc.).
“Our shared goal was to equip youth with the resources they need for a successful school year, including access to positive mentors who can provide the support and encouragement they need to thrive,” said Kerns.
