There are over 200 children in Yavapai County in need of a Big Brother, Big Sister, Big Couple, or Big Family.
Meet Christian, a 13 year old boy who wants to protect and serve others as a police officer when he grows up. A child who loves watching Spongebob Squarepants, Christian needs a Big Brother because he has minimal contact with his father. Despite these circumstances, he is very supportive to his mother and younger siblings, but Christian needs someone to spend quality one-to-one time with and give him the attention he deserves.
Riding bikes, walking outside, and going to the park are among his favorite activities. Christian describes himself as “the type of kid who laughs a lot”. He also enjoys building structures, messing with arts and crafts, and learning about social studies. Christian would like to play football, ride bikes, play board games, and shoot targets with his Big Brother.
Research proves that boys ages 14-17 who are matched to a Big Brother are 53% less likely to be arrested than all other boys in the same age group. 8 hours a month can save a child’s life!
