Yavapai Big Brothers Big Sisters is seeking adult volunteers to mentor children in our community. Boys who are matched to a Big Brother are 53% less likely to be arrested than all other boys (14-17) – our volunteers make a huge difference not only in children’s lives, but in taxpayer savings. All children are capable of success – and there are no exceptions. It is our job as community members to find a way to support all children in our community.
Meet Juan, a 12 year old boy who is excited to have a Big Brother. Juan lives with his family, including two younger sisters. Juan was initially matched when he was 5 years old. This match lasted five years and ended when his Big Brother had a change in his employment. Juan would like to have another Big Brother to do guy things with.
Juan is entering his teenage years and needs guidance. He enjoys being outdoors and active, riding his bike or playing with friends. Juan does have some struggles with school. A Big Brother who could encourage him would make a big impact.
If you are ready to step up and mentor Juan or another child, and to join our elite and impactful group of Bigs, contact YBBBS at 778-5135
