Act your age! In Shawn’s case, he acts exactly like a just-turned-eight-years-old boy should. Agile and curious as a chimp at the park, he swings from ring to ring on the horizontal ladder, scrambles up poles to swish down the slide, leaps from boulder to boulder then pauses to peer at busy ants.
Shawn lives in Prescott Valley with his mom, an older brother and a younger brother. A Big Brother can explore parks with Shawn, who eagerly will show his Big his found treasures, such as colorful rocks and bits of wood in interesting shapes. The second-grader likes to hike, fish, play sports – especially soccer – eat chocolate cake, and for quiet times, play Plants vs Zombies on his tablet or spend time with his collection of Beanie Bears. Shawn likes animals, and has a Chihuahua named Dottie at home.
Act your age! For potential Bigs, this simply means to enjoy life with a Little the best way you know how, whatever your physical capabilities or time constraints. An hour or two at a time a couple of times each month will do it. Or, if you can’t be a Big, how about supporting a Big? The Arizona State Tax Credit is one way to do so.
