PRESCOTT – Kristen Kerns of Prescott is the new leader of the youth mentoring nonprofit Yavapai Big Brothers Big Sisters (YBBBS).
“After a thoughtful and deliberate recruitment effort, the YBBBS Board of Directors is pleased to announce the appointment of Kristen Kerns as our new executive director. Kristen brings with her a strong background in nonprofit work within Yavapai County and a passion for supporting programs that benefit the youth in our communities,” said Wendy Ross, the agency’s board chairperson.
Kerns has over a decade of nonprofit experience with U.S. Vets, the Yavapai Humane Society, and the Boys and Girls Clubs of Central Arizona. Her background in donor relations, strategic planning, grant administration, operations, and more will allow the agency to continue and grow its mission of creating and supporting one-to-one mentoring relationships.
“I am both honored and thrilled to step into the role of executive director at Yavapai Big Brothers Big Sisters. Joining this incredible organization, known for its profound impact on youth and communities, is a privilege that fills me with immense excitement and gratitude,” shared Kerns.

Ross shared that Kerns will join the team on April 8. “I do not doubt she will be an amazing complement to the already strong and passionate YBBBS team of professionals.”
